Wolves are mammals. They are warm blooded. They are loving, loyal and playful. Wolves can weigh over 100 pounds 45kg and be over SIX FEET 2M long from their nose to the tip of their tail! Wolves are related to jackals, foxes, coyotes, and dogs! They can run over 20 miles 32km per hour. Wolves can run for many hours before getting tired! They have big ears! They can hear sounds from up to 6 MILES 9.5KM away! Wolves have over 40 TEETH! Wolves are CARNIVORES, which means they eat meat. Small animals like rabbits, beavers and mice often become a wolves snack. Sometimes wolves nibble on berries. Wolves need to live out in the wild to be happy. Wolves can be found in most Northern parts of the world. Many live in the forests, or prairies, when there is plenty of food. A wolf that lives on it's own is called a lone wolf! A pack may have less than 6 or more than 20.They live together as a family. Every pack has a leader called" an alpha male". The whole pack hunts for food together. They chase and surround their victim. Usually one wolf grabs hold of the attack!
