Fathers Day Writing Prompts

891. One of the most traditional Father's Day gifts to give to a dad is a tie. If you added up all of the ties people got for their dads during the holiday, you'd end up with millions of ties! What would you do with a giant mountain of ties and why would you do it?

892. Some dads have the image of being rugged and outdoorsy. Would you say that your dad is like that? If so, how did he get that way? If not, how would you describe your dad?

893. Imagine that you went back in time to hang out with your dad at your age. How do you think he'd be different from the way he is today? Do you think the two of you would get along?

894. What does your family do to celebrate Father's Day? Describe your festivities from the beginning to the end of the day. Do you think he enjoys all the attention? Why or why not?

895. Write a made-up story using the following words: lawnmower, tools, manly, and smile.

896. Does your dad do chores around the house? If so, what chore do you think he's best at? If not, which of your chores do you wish he would do and why?

897. What are some of the ways in which your dad is the same as his dad? What are some of the ways in which he's different? How do you think you'll be different from your dad when you grow up?

898. If you could have any famous celebrity as your dad, who would he be and why? How do you think Father's Day would be different with such a well-known person as your pop?

899. Describe one of the following in great detail: Your dad's tool collection, your dad's wardrobe, your dad's computer station, or your dad's favorite foods.

900. Imagine that you are planning a surprise Father's Day party for your dad. Who would you invite and why? What foods would you serve, what music would you play, and what activities would you set up? Do you think your dad would be surprised? Why or why not?
